Lingnan Chinese Debate Team

Lingnan Chinese Debate Team won the championship in Inter-Collegiate Debate Competition 2019

Lingnan University Chinese Debate Team won the championship in the final match of the Inter-Collegiate Debate Competition 2019 on 27 April 2019, which is co-organized by the Radio & Television Hong Kong (RTHK) and The Hong Kong Federation of Students (HKFS).  The debate motion is “The advantages outweigh the disadvantages in the MeToo movement in promoting social justice”.  Ms Anna Mak was also awarded the ‘Best Debater”. Lingnan University awarded over HK$13.5 million scholarships to more than 370 outstanding students

Lingnan University has presented 374 outstanding students with a total of 546 awards and scholarships totalling more than HK$13.5 million during the 2018/19 academic year. The  Awards Presentation and Reception 2019 was held today (8 April 2019), in recognition of their outstanding academic and personal achievements during the 2018/19 academic year. (Read More)

In an effort to cultivate outstanding Lingnan students with entrepreneurial mindset and leadership skills, and for young people to rise to the challenge and make a positive impact on the society at large, the Lingnan High-Flyers programme was launched in 2018, funded by the generous donation of HK$600,000 from Tin Ka Ping Foundation. Lantern Legend 2019 puts on cultural diversity at Lingnan

To celebrate the Year of the Pig, the Student Services Centre and the Office of Global Education co-organised the Lantern Legend 2019 on 18 February, an annual carnival that fills the campus with festive Lunar New Year atmosphere. The celebratory occasion also serves as a platform for non-local staff and students to experience the Chinese traditional culture on Lingnan’s multicultural campus. (Read more)

Lingnan University and HKSI Sign MOU To Foster Dual Career Pathways for Elite Athletes


Lingnan University and The Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to further boost the substantial support to full-time elite athletes in facilitating their planning on dual career development both in sports and in academics. (Read more)

Excellent performance of LU Sports Team in the Jackie Chan Challenge Cup

The 22nd Jackie Chan Challenge Cup Hong Kong Universities Invitation Tournament was successfully held in LU campus from 6th – 20th October. LU sports teams performed excellently in this year’s tournament. Our Men’s Basketball, Men’s Volleyball, Women’s Volleyball, Men’s Soccer and Women’s Table-tennis team won the 2nd Runner-up in their respective category of competitions. We wish them another good performance in the upcoming USFHK competitions. (Read more)



Lingnan Rowing Team and Dragon Boat Team grasped awards in Rowing Championships and Dragon Boat Championships

The 11th Jackie Chan Challenge Cup Hong Kong Universities Rowing Championships 2018 was successfully organized on 18 and 19 August in Sha Tin Shing Mun River Regatta Course. The eight local universities had sent their most competitive crews to take part and compete for the glories of their respective universities. Lingnan University Rowing Team showed outstanding performance in the competitions. They won the 1st runner-up in the Men’s Coxless Four and our alumni team won the 1st runner-up in the Alumni Women’s Coxed Eight.

The Dragon Boat Team also got excellent result in the 8th Hong Kong Indoor Dragon Boat Championships. The Championships was successfully organized on 19 August in Plaza Hollywood, Diamond Hill. (Read more)



New Student Orientation 2018

Lingnan University welcomes new students from all over the world

Lingnan University held its 2018/19 Inauguration Ceremony on 22 August duing the New Student Orientation (NSO) to mark the beginning of the new academic year and welcome hundreds of new students from all over the world. Around 600 freshmen attended the ceremony to celebrate the beginning of their learning journey at Lingnan. (Read more)

Students of Lingnan secondary schools taste university life

Lingnan University organised the “Experience in Lingnan University” together with Lingnan Dr Chung Wing Kwong Memorial Secondary School, Lingnan Hang Yee Memorial Secondary School and Lingnan Secondary School from 26 to 28 June on Lingnan campus.  Some 90 students from the three secondary schools joined the event, which showcased the strong bond of the Lingnan family.  The event was generously supported by the Lingnan Education Organization (LEO), which aims to offer opportunities for secondary students to experience liberal arts education as well as the vibrant living-and-learning environment at Lingnan through a rich array of lectures, programmes and hostel experience. "Meet the Profession – Networking Evening” is one of the highlighted events of celebrating 50th Anniversary of the Re-establishment of Lingnan University in Hong Kong. and T.W.G.Hs Seconday School

T.W.G.Hs secondary school students excelled in indoor 5-A-Side football at Lingnan

As a collaboration between Lingnan University and Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (T.W.G.Hs), over 250 students from 18 T.W.G.Hs secondary schools participated in an indoor 5-A-Side football tournament in the Jackie Chan Gymnasium on 5, 6 and 10 July 2018. Other than the football tournament, admission talks and sports injury prevention workshops were offered to the students. Through the talks and workshops, the students learnt the liberal arts education and experienced the teaching environment of LU. (Read more)
